Welcome to Spring Semester 2024!

The Writing Center offers 25-minute and 55-minute sessions to Pitt undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff. Our sessions are in-person and online. You can choose a faculty consultant or undergraduate peer tutor for feedback on your writing projects. We welcome academic and creative assignments, digital projects, and professional writing, such as cover letters, resumes, and graduate school applications. Our consultants strive to offer feedback that recognizes and honors different languages, abilities, and identities. You should expect a collaborative session, one in which you take an active role and which prioritizes your interests and concerns.

Please Note: Our consultants will not be available finals week; the Writing Center closes on the final day of classes. Be sure to make your appointments early for feedback on your final writing assignments!

Scheduling an appointment:

To begin, click "Schedule an Appointment" on this page, and answer the questions for "first visit?" Once you have entered your information, you will be registered with us. Now,you can schedule your own appointments by using our online scheduler.  Click "Schedule an Appointment" again.  Once the schedule pops up, select an appointment time from either the in-person (OSC) schedule or the online schedule. You can toggle between these two schedules by pressing the down arrow to the right of the "schedules" tab. Answer the intake questions and save your appointment. You will then get an email verification of your appointment.

You can also call the Writing Center at 412-624-6556 and we can make the appointment for you.

Walk-in consultations are also available. These appointments are not guaranteed, so calling ahead is still recommended.
